If sitting around relaxing and eating is not your bag, then why not pop over to Cawsand Bay and hire a Kayak or Paddleboard. The friendly team will provide some handy technique tips, local tide/currents to be aware of. plus they will even help you carry your board to and from the water – what great service!
Cawsand and Kingsand are great beaches to launch from, they are usually fairly sheltered and safe, plus there’s an excellent range of great pubs (The Devonport, Cross Keys, The Halfway House, Rising Sun) a few independent shops, great bakery, ice-creams and good facilities.
Another great day trip is to catch the (seasonal) passenger ferry from Cawsand to Plymouth.
NB. There are two car parks – Cawsand has large one, however, be warned – it gets full early.
