If you are a National Trust member then you have ‘lucked in’ 🙂 as there are a plethora of wonderful historic houses, glorious gardens and splendid cafés & gift shops to indulge in whilst you stay at Kilquite Barn.
Cotehele House (26 mins) – Medieval origins, Georgian antiques, superb collections, 12 acre garden, great walks.
Antony House (22mins) – 18th-Century house set within a magnificent landscape garden – trampers available for hire & dogs on leads allowed.
Lanhydrock (32 mins) Interesting historically finding out about the Robartes family, plus excellent circular walks, Parkrun on Saturdays + you can hire bikes. There’s a well-stocked plant centre, spacious café and shop open seasonally.
Lansallos (37 mins) – A stretch of unspoilt coast, park in the Lansallos National Trust car park and meander through a gorgeous stretch of natural pathways, wild flowers and birds. The beach itself is sheltered, with turquoise waters and small waterfall, take a picnic and everything you need, as there are no facilities or shops.
